Thursday Evening Oct. 15: Lauren Williams, Oboe
There was no Introductions this past Saturday due to Operathon (in support of Lyric Opera of Chicago), so this Thursday evening we'll re-air a program we recorded this past spring at Flashpoint Academy featuring Oboist Lauren Williams.
Lauren has been principal oboe of the MYA Symphony Orchestra and was principal oboe in April when local Chicago students performed side-by-side with Simon Bolivar musicians under Gustavo Dudamel at Symphony Center. She was also the recipient of the 2008 Downbeat Magazine national classical performer of the year designation.
