Introductions

Meet Chicago's finest pre-college classical musicians.

The Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra's Encore Chamber Orchestra was the featured ensemble today, from DePaul University Concert Hall. This year the CYSO won an ASCAP award for adventurous programming from the League of American Orchestras and this summer they went on tour to Argentina and Uruguay. On this program, we hear part of Mozart's Oboe Concerto, Premiere Rhapsodie for Clarinet by Debussy and a cello feature called Graciela y Buenos Aires by Argentine composer Jose Bragato. The soloists on today's program were winners of the CYSO's most recent concerto competition.
