17 year old Ben Lash of Evanston High School (and a student at the Music Institute of Chicago Academy for gifted pre-college musicians) gave a terrific performance today. Last on his program was a new work composed in 1999, which I especially recommend! Ben was joined on piano for several pieces by Shirley Trissell.

Program:

Suite No. 6 in D major J.S. Bach
Courante
Sarabande

Divertimento in D Major for Cello and Piano Franz Joseph Haydn (arranged by Gregor Piatigorski, 1903-1976)
Adagio
Allegro di molto

Beethoven Sonata No. 4 in C major, op. 102, No. 1
Andante-Allegro Vivace

Polonaise Brillante, Opus 3 Frederic Chopin

Alone for Solo Cello Giovanni Sollima
