Saturday June 21st Show at Flashpoint Academy

Hey all,
We're really excited to have Julian Cook and Catherine Zhou on this week's Introductions. Tune in this Saturday at 11:00 a.m. for a special edition of Introductions broadcast live from Flashpoint Academy in Downtown Chicago. Julian Cook who is 17 years old was born in Chicago, Illinois. He resides on the South Side with his mother Kimberly and his sister Nina. Julian attends Jones College Prep where he is Student Council President, Concert Choir President, a member of the Christian Club, and is a private voice student of Mrs. Gaye Klopack. Always looking to broaden his horizons, Julian has competed in many competitions and won, including the prestigious NATS competition, on both the regional and local levels. In the very near future, Julian plans to pursue a collegiate education in pastoral ministry and theology, and musical performance. Julian’s career goals include a fruitful career in opera music, as well as entering into full time ministry as a church pastor. In his spare time Julian enjoys being actively involved in his faith community, spending time with friends, reading, studying the bible, listening to various Christian music artist, cooking, and shopping. Catherine is a 13 year old pianist from Hyde Park. Catherine recently won the Sherwood Conservatory Scholarship Competition in May and will treat us to some Prokofiev, Chopin, and other gems for the piano. Julian tells us that his love of opera music has only really developed this past year, which makes his talent as a vocalist all the more remarkable. He also told us that he often uses Youtube as a tool to learn the pieces he is working on. You can check out a couple of Youtube clips of the music he's going to perform this Saturday, below.
