About Me:
I'm a pianist, composer, piano instructor and I used to work as a chemist.

I went to Kalamazoo College where I graduated with a B.A., double majoring in music and chemistry, emphases on piano performance, composition and physical/inorganic chemistry. I won a few composition competitions, back around the turn of the century. I'm honing my piano and composition technique, and looking to win a few more in the very near future.

I am an intern at WFMT, and I look forward to serving you!

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

A few weeks ago I heard the diploma recital of a fine piano student at Roosevelt University, Mr. Wael Farouk. His recital repertoire included the Busoni arrangement of Bach’s violin chaconne in D minor. He was generating a wonderful sound, but he was sometimes a little muddy. The recital was at Ganz hall, and I’ve played on the piano before. This brings me to my question for all of you: What is the most important thing for the classical musician?

An Open Letter

Hey folks, this one's for all the teachers and band directors:

As an educator and as a musician, don't you wish that there were more opportunities for your students to hear people their age playing and listening and even perhaps writing classical music?

As artists, I think we have to be concerned that fewer and fewer young people are attending classical music concerts, and that the trend doesn't seem to be slowing.
